Windows 10: Temporary Profiles on a Domain

We are experiencing an increasing issue where users are logging into their computers with temporary profiles. Logging off and back on sometimes multiple times or restarting the computer resolves the issue for some users temporarily, but this has become a recurring problem.The steps we've taken to address this include:Modifying the registry to remove .bak profiles.Reverting the profile path to the original user directory.Removing both TEMP and affected profiles, which led to data loss, despite backups being made.We have already checked AD for users profile paths and this all seems correctSpec

• Is your PC connected to a domain?
• Were you able to load the same profile on your computer before using the new hard drive?
• What exactly is being logged in as "temporary profile"? Is it another user account on your computer?
• Aside from using the new hard drive, have you made any recent changes to your device prior to this happening?
• What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?

Domain users are getting a temporary profile


Clean install of Windows10_InsiderPreview_x64_EN-US_10074
After joining domain non admin users are getting a temporary profile and the start menu will not work.
did not have this issue on earlier builds
My domain admin user account is working fine

 

Migrate Locale Profile to Domain

I removed my reply because watching those instructions on TechNet I started wondering if they really work with Windows 10.

Anyway, whatever you try create first a dummy profile, customize it a bit and move it to domain. If everything works, you can then move real profiles.
