Windows 10: I am unable to create PIN for WIndows 11 Pro. Code does not go to hotmail account.

Hi on my new desktop PIN got corrupted and Windows 11 pro asking to create a new PIN for which it is supposed to send a Code to my Hotmail account. The code does not make to my Hotmail a/c and as such can not create new PIN. Desktop support team suggested to re load Windows from USB. I am not convinced with solution. Please help. Thanks

Creating a Microsoft account PIN

If you are unable to create a PIN for your Microsoft account, you can try the following steps to troubleshoot the problem:

1.Reset Microsoft Account: Try resetting your Microsoft account password. You can do this using a third-party device such as a cell phone, tablet, etc. by going to the Microsoft Account Recovery page and following the instructions to reset your password. After resetting the password, restart the computer and try creating the PIN again.

2.I would suggest that you can refer to the steps in Start your PC in safe mode in Windows - Microsoft Support to start your computer in safe mode.

Please create a new account in Safe Mode by following the steps below and see if the issue still persists under the new account.

• Search for CMD, then run it in administrator mode and enter the following command:
  

• After prompting the command to run successfully, enter the following command:
  

Note: USERNAME PASSWORD can be replaced with your desired account name and password, if you don't need a password you can leave out PASSWORD.

Restart your computer and log in to the system with the new account, if there is no problem under the new account, then bind your Microsoft account under the new account, if it can be successful, then this may be a malfunction of the account configuration file, please refer to the following article to transfer your information to the new account:Fix a corrupted user profile in Windows - Microsoft Support ((The steps for windows 11 are the same as windows 10, please refer directly to the steps for windows 10)

Password for local account tied to hotmail logon account?

Hello!

Here's the context: Whenever I setup Windows 10 for the first time, I use my hotmail/Microsoft account to set everything up and to logon to Windows. Windows then creates a local profile/account that is tied to my hotmail account.

Example: if my hotmail account is L: [email protected], then Windows creates a local profile named bubba and uses that name as my users folder (c:\users\bubba\).

Sometimes I need to start a service or create a task in task scheduler, and Windows asks for the password for "bubba". I have no idea what that is. It's not the hotmail password or the PIN - I've tried that - and the bubba account isn't listed in the user applet in Settings so I can't access it.

I'm thinking there's either something very obvious I'm missing or I'm doing something wrong.

How can I get the password to the local account? Anyone know?
