Windows 11 Computer will not turn off. Sometimes stuck on restarting or completely reboots

I have tried Troubleshoot-> Advanced Options -> Startup Repair -> System Restore and finally -> Resetting the PCDuring Reset the first part "Resetting The PC" completed.During install after 1% completed I got the bluescreen error "Driver PNP Watchdog" so the reset did not complete. The system rebooted and messages on screen was Undoing Changes and then Preparing and then this message.I hit the OK button. The screen goes blank and the PC is still on. After 10 minutes I do a forced shutoff. Reboot and go from "Preparing" to "Undo

    :)

Windows Updated(16299.309).KB4088776 Restart is required to complete.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

Thanks for the suggestions and for the time to respond Windows 11 Computer will not turn off. Sometimes stuck on restarting or completely reboots :) Best regards.

And thanks for the tip of that program, I'll have it on my list.

Windows update stuck at 99% after restore! (Help)

I finally got my old computer to update! The steps I had to go through (and I don't know if anybody else has to do the same) is I unplugged my internet modem, restarted my computer (I had to use the power button to shut off my computer after it got stuck at Do Not Turn Off Your Computer), waited 30 seconds to turn my computer back on, waited for my computer to reboot (you'll get the Do Not Turn Off Your Computer thingy again but just ignore that and your computer will reload windows after awhile), went through the steps that somedude outlined, plugged in my modem, got online, and with Microsoft Edge, searched for the KB4054517 update. This time it installed!

Then they'll tell you to restart the computer to complete the installation and that's what happened!

Thanks somedude, but I had to take some extra steps (ie: unplugging my modem).

Computer hangups - stuck on restart

I have a Dell laptop running windows 10. Recently on restart it is getting stuck. I have to turn it off and back on until it goes into repair mode and gives me some options to troubleshoot. If I pick option 7 which reboots without app permissions I believe
it will come back with some apps greyed out. So I can never update windows 10 anymore, or let the computer restart for any reason, or I have to go through the same steps again. I always get the message that changes could not be made. I tried all the recover
options, with or without saving files, reinstalling windows 10, to no avail. It runs OK but I want to be able to do updates and so on, and want to restore my computer back to normal. Any suggestions?
