Windows 10: why can't I choose slideshow in personalize options?

I have been setting up my desktop for slideshow forever. Suddenly today my desktop was clear no image. I went into personalize and attempted to choose slideshow from desktop setup menu. It does not work, assigning picture instead. What's going on?

I am missing the slideshow option under personalize; theme; theme settings.

Could you clarify? At what point do the steps break down?

I go to the Start menu by clicking on the Windows logo on the bottom left of my screen.

I click on the Settings option to open up the Settings application.

I click Personalization from the list of options.

I see that I'm on the Background page now.

I select "Slideshow" from the top dropdown on that page.

I make some slideshow choices.

Yay!

 

How can I put a photo slideshow on shuffle? Where are all the slideshow options?

Some slideshow functionality is built into the Photos screen saver located in Start > Settings > Personalization > Lock Screen

Scroll down, click Screen saver settings

Click in the list box, choose Photos

Choose your folder then select it

Choose the Shuffle option

Thats about it. A lot of older desktop functionality in Windows 10 is being phased out.

You should send in feedback and suggestions to have them restored.

Press Windows key + F to launch the Feedback hub and send in your suggestions.

 

Slideshow stop working on window 10

Let's troubleshoot things further by doing the following steps then see how it goes.

• Right click on your desktop and choose Personalize.
• Choose Background and choose Slideshow.
• Choose the correct album for your slideshow.
• Choose 1 minute.
• Choose On for Shuffle.
• Save Settings.
