Windows 10: I was using my hp elitebook laptop and my keyboard light suddenly stopped working

I was working with my pc and the keyboard light suddenly stopped working. I have tried everything I know to make it work again but all prove to be futile. What can I do to make it work plss

Keyboard light is not controled via driver, nor is it a Windows feature. It is a hardware/firmware feature. You might be able to adjust it in BIOS if the model supports it. But if there's anything on the software side you can try, I will suggest updating BIOS. But considering the issue is about some parts of the light work and not the other, I fear this is an actual hardware issue with the light itself that you will need support from HP instead.

Hello Everyone

Have a HP EliteBook x360 1030 G4 Notebook PC used mainly for business. Got some issues with my keyboard light which only works in the middle/center-slightly right side area. If I am looking on the QWERTY keyboard the F glows most and then GHJKL (and on a little bit) See picture.

It worked properly before & it is not sure but the failure could be from same time when Windows 11 was installed. Not sure. A year ago I turned it on through the BIOS setup in order to light up constantly which was a great function but now I'm here with this issue and cannot find the solution.

What I tried:

- Of course the F9 key which has an off low and high level but it still just change a limited area.

- Troubleshooting through setup.

- Hardware Troubleshooter: CMD then: msdt.exe -id DeviceDiagnostic

- Trying to fix & troubleshoot through BIOS.

- Device Manager both updating devices & deleting them after which was reinstalled automatically.

- Troubleshooting & diagnose through HP Support Assistance.

- I saw that some people has the keyboard light as an option in the Windows Mobility Center but not me. It is not there.

- I have 6 keyboard drivers on my Device Manager. 5 is called the same: HID Keyboard Device & one is called Standard 101/102-Key or Microsoft Natural PS/2 Keyboard for HP Hotkey Support. IDK why I need all these and it seems like if any of them gets deleted then after a restart it is back again.

So nothing worked. A saw this forum and red a lot of good answers so in a hope of someone knowing what to do, I ask: what can I do to get the keyboard light back?

how to activate/enable keyboard in HP EliteBook

hello, guys! i somehow managed to disable the keyboard(physical) in my hp EliteBook laptop, does any of you know how to restore it back to working order? any suggestion from you all will be so much appreciated. thanks.
