Windows 10: Unable to Install Program from CD

I've got a couple of programs bought several years ago that are on discs, I now want to load them onto a new laptop running Windows 11. Every time I try to run the installer it gets blocked because of a security/administrator problem. They are programs that can be used more than once.At this point I have tried every solution I can find online. Running the program installer as an administrator, turning off firewalls etc. with no luck. The laptop is also not in safe mode. Is there anything else I can try?

Unable to install dictonary from CD

    What exactly happens when you try to install?

    Did you receive any error message?
    
  • 
    Did you install any third party security application?
    
  • 
    Is the issue specific to a particular CD or are you able to read other files from other discs?
    

As an initial troubleshooting step, I suggest you to check if the particular application that you are trying to install is compatible with Windows 10.

You may also copy all of the content inside the CD to a folder and try to install it in compatibility mode.

Please follow the below steps:

1) Right click on the Program.

2) Click on Properties.

3) Click on Compatibility tab.

4) Select Run this program in compatibility mode (try different Operating systems) and select the operating system accordingly from the drop down list.

• What is the model of the PC?
  

I suggest you to go through the Hardware Installation section in the
Owner’s Manual
to know to install the CD recorder. If the drive is not recognized by Windows after installing, try the troubleshooting steps listed in
Your CD or DVD drive is not recognized by Windows or other programs.

As you are unable to access the files and folders from external hard drive, do let us know the following to assist you better:

• Which are the programs you are trying to install from CD?
• Are you facing any issues in installing the program?

If you are referring to installing a program from CD, I suggest you to try the below and check if it helps.

• Insert the CD into the computer and check if it is detected on File Explorer
  by pressing Windows + E keys.
• Double click on the drive with the CD, search for the program, right click on the Setup file
  and execute the program.
