Windows 10: Can't boot to Windows 10 after installing Linux Lite, parallel install, no files were deleted.

Hi All,I have run the Linux Lite 7.4 installer, he detected that there is Windows 10 installed on the PC and continued the installation process knowing that will have 2 systems.After finishing the install it logs in directly to the Linux whithout asking , how to enter Windows again?The laptop is Dell Precision M4600 and apparentlly has some issue as it does not react when first click on some object on Windows, I have to repeat it to open something.In Linux just hangs for a moment and then opens what I have click.The HD is 1TB SSD partitioned in 4, can it be from it? How to test it, as looking

Are you doing a clean install?

Also if you are doing a clean install may I suggest this. Delete and format all partitions and let Ubuntu allocate the drive. You might have some MBR files left on the HD that is conflicting with Ubuntu booting.

He can do symbolic link redirection and move the files in it to a different location. *Wink
Better try it out in a virtual of first. Just a suggestion.

Like:
First move everything in c:\windows\installer to d:\installercache
Then delete c:\windows\installer folder
Then type this in command mode as admin
mklink /d c:\windows\installer d:\installercache

Removing those installer files is a bad idea. it might prevent you from updating or uninstalling apps.

Nope, you need to install Windows 10 first and make sure the Windows 7 key is transferred to your Windows account after you've installed Windows 10 (not quite sure how that works). I missed the last step and I could not activate Windows 10 after a re-install... Microsoft seem to have done everything they can to make it a PITA. Also, it's technically too late to do this now anyhow, as the upgrade offer has expired. But KMSPico works quite well...

As for getting rid of Windows, delete the Windows folder.
