Windows 10: When I receive a new junk email in the junk folder, it starts duplicating itself.

When I receive a new junk email in the junk folder, it starts duplicating itself. I can end up with 1,000 to 10,000 junk emails, all duplicates of the same message. It doesn’t matter who the email is from—they all do it. The duplication stops when I exit Outlook but starts again when I reopen it.I have no rules in place, and as I’m writing this, I currently have 7,592 junk emails—all duplicates of the same message. If I left-click and select "Clean Folder," about 25% of the emails are removed. If I clear the folder entirely, it goes to zero but immediately starts duplicating again.

It seems to be that you're using Outlook.com, may we recommend to check your Junk Mail Settings, refer to the steps below:

  On your inbox, click the Gear icon and select
  Options from the dropdown list.

  Under Junk Email, click
  Filters and reporting.
  
• 
  Under Choose a junk e-mail filter, choose the level of protection that you want, and then click Save. If the Exclusive level was set, messages from senders not on your Contacts
  or Safe sender’s lists will have been sent to the Junk e-mail folder.
