    DNS Client Events 1014 Keeps Disconnecting Ethernet for a couple seconds after upgrading...


    Ethernet keeps dropping for a couple seconds randomly every few hours. Whenever this happens I check event viewer and find DNS Client Events 1014 warning as well as DistributedCOM 10016 Some of the times. I recently upgraded from windows 10 to windows 11 and did a clean install of windows. For what I have tried so far.Flushing DNSEverything listed hereTurning Router off for a few minutes Network ResetNetwork DriversScreenshots: Currently failing to upload sorryThank you for any help on the matter

    Event ID 1014 DNS Client Events

    According to Tom's Hardware (and my understanding of how DNS works) any time you ask DNS to look for a domain name that doesn't exist (might be a typo on a real domain or simply an invalid/non-existent domain name) this error gets thrown. Apparently it's not something to worry about. FWIW, the nslookup command confirms that the domain name shown in your example cannot be resolved:

    LAN/Ethernet problem (DNS Client Events 1014,Realtek/Clean W10 install


    With my Asus, I have the problem with the Realtek Ethernet card but with my Qualcomm Atheros AR9485WB-EG wireless Network adapter it works good (but I don't want to use Wifi).

    BTW (with my Realtek Ethernet Card Under W7) :

    LAN/Ethernet problem (DNS Client Events 1014,Realtek/Clean W10 install)

    HI!

    After upgrading from W8 to W10 and then doing clean install of W10 my Ethernet connection is randomly popping alerts and losing connection (event viewer reports this as event 1014), card also is randomly being reset.

    troubleshooting just resets Ethernet card (Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller) saying there was an issue with DNS.

    I've never used Cisco VPN

    Issue did not occurred on W8.1

    Tried both drivers (Windows 10 update and Realtek for win8.1 using both compatibility and normal install)

    Wi-fi has no issues.
