Windows 10: Microsoft sign in does not recognize correct password

My computer seems to default to a local account when I shut down even though I have selected stay signed in. When I try to sign in to my microsoft account I use my account name, password and then I get a screen that says next time sign in using my microsoft password, but now need for me to input again, I put it in and get an error message that it is not the correct password, but it is the correct password! See image below. Do not know how to solve this issue, it keeps looping me back to sign in page.

We understand the difficulties you are facing while login to the PC using your Microsoft account.



In this scenario, we would suggest you to perform these steps and check if you are able to sign with the correct login credential in Safe mode. Also check if you are connected the PC to the internet, preferably through Ethernet cable.

1. At the login screen click on the power symbol.
   
2. Hold SHIFT key in the keyboard and click Restart.
   
3. After restarting your system, select the Troubleshoot option.
   
4. Select advanced options under
   Troubleshoot screen.
   
5. Click on Startup Settings
   
6. Click Restart and follow the onscreen steps to go to Safe Mode
   
7. Login with the correct password using the onscreen keyboard.

Hi,

About your concern with typing the password after being idle, it is actually recommended to activate for security reasons.

If you wish to disable it, I suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it helps.

• Go to Settings.
• Click on Accounts.
• Click on Sign in options.
• On the right side, you will see required sign in.
• Change it to Never.

Windows 10 isn't recognizing my correct password. Help please?

I am having a problem signing in to my brand new computer because Microsoft isn't recognizing my correct password. I tried to change the password from my phone and now Microsoft won't recognize my correct password on my phone. How can I fix this problem.
