  1. Windows 11 upgrade with TWO different TPM's present

I recently purchased a motherboard and new Intel CPU.I have a unique problem. The INTEL cpu is equipped with PTT and the GigaByte mother board has an embedded TPM as well.In the most recent version of the bios firmware there is no option to specify which TPM hardware to use. I can enable or disable the Trusted Platform environment which toggles both modules on or off. In other words I have the choice of two trusted platform modules or none. When enabled windows sees both modules and randomly chooses ONE to use, but on the next startup it does not mean that TPM will be the same one. Right no

    Issue after upgrading TPM firmware

    Hello,

This is the update that I am trying to accomplish: Update Your Security Processor (TPM) Firmware - Microsoft Support

However after completing the steps that are listed within this article I am still not able to complete the actual upgrade. I still have the pop up that states i need to upgrade.

    I followed the following steps:

    1. ensure all upgrades are up to date.

    2. download the specific .EXE firmware update file and run it on my machine as an administrator

    3. clear TPM and restart.

however simple these steps are I have not been able to complete the update.

    I am on a HP Z240 SFF 1.2 TPM

What can I do to ensure that my TPM is updated to the latest firmware?

    TPM and Windows 11.

Windows 11 requires TPM 2.0 to be present and enabled. No, TPM can only be enabled or disabled in the bios. A lot of OEMs seem to be issuing bios updates recently, with the sole purpose of changing their bios default from disabled to enabled in preparation for W11. Just because TPM is enabled doesn't mean it will be in use. Whether its used or not, that is a user setting within Windows, W10 or W11.

    TPM and Windows 11.

No, it's not changed to 1.2. Windows 11 will not be offered as an upgrade option in Windows Update unless the PC has TPM 2.0.
Update on Windows 11 minimum system requirements and PC Health Check app | Windows 11 Forum What has changed, as reported in that article Samuria gave a link for, is that MS will apparently allow you to upgrade manually using an ISO on an unsupported device, and if it has TPM 1.2 then it is certainly unsupported. Whether you'd actually want to install W11 on an unsupported device is another matter, when MS say 'unsupported' they really mean it in all senses of the word. That article goes on to say that: "..."unsupported" Windows 11 PCs won't be entitled to receive Windows Updates".
