Win 10 changes printer settings if not a default printer

I understand this. My question was a work around that. If you are printing multiple documents and having to go in between label printer and regular printer, setting the printer default manually is an extra step that will not suffice due to it's inefficiency.
Other suggestion?

Windows 10 keeps managing one of my customers print functions.

The copier is the main printer but she prints the occasional label for UPS

When she uses the label maker it is set to the default.

As a result the next normal print job wastes a label unless she changes the default printer back to the copier every time (THANKS MICROSOFT!!)

This is obviously an annoying issue so I turned off the management feature under "DEvices" --> "Printers and Scanners" and unfortunately Windows ignores the off switch and keeps on managing the printers.

I found a registry fix that someone suggested and that also did not work.

Any suggestions on gaining control of the default print functions would be useful. Thanks

 

How to change the default preference in system printer dialog?

To change the default printer preference in the system printer dialog, follow these steps:

1. Click on the Start button and then click on the Settings icon (it looks like a gear).
   
2. In the Settings window, click on "Devices."
   
3. In the Devices window, click on "Printers & scanners."
   
4. In the Printers & scanners window, you will see a list of all the printers that are currently connected to your computer.
   
5. Click on the printer that you want to set as the default printer.
   
6. Click on the "Manage" button and then click on "Set as default." Download Best File Manager EsFileExplorer
   
7. Close the Settings window and your new default printer preference will be set.
