Windows 10: Explorer.exe Running but Black Screen After Rebooting – Only Resolved by Rebooting via CTRL...

Hi everyone,I’m facing an issue where after rebooting my PC, Explorer.exe continues to run, but I get a black screen instead of my desktop. I can't interact with anything, and the screen stays black until I press CTRL + ALT + DELETE. After that, I can restart the system from the lock screen options, and everything works fine.This issue occurs every time I reboot the system. There are several factors why you get the said error and the black screen of death. and that's what we are going to figure out. To isolate this concern, may we know the following:

• Any changes made on the computer prior to this concern?
  
• Is this the first time that you encountered this concern?

For the meantime, we suggest that you reset Windows Explorer on your computer. You can follow the steps provided below:

• Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc and locate for Windows Explorer.
• Right click on the Windows Explorer and click on End task.
• On top of the Task Manager click on File and click on Run new task.
• Type explorer.exe inside the box and hit Enter.

Try turning off automatic restart on system failure and see if it is giving a blue-screen before it reboots. That might at least give you an error message or code so you can start your troubleshooting from there. Otherwise it is just a shot in the dark. It could be bad RAM, bad HDD, bad ODD, a bad cable somewhere, PSU dying, motherboard dying, a software issue and the list goes on...

I don't think he ever said it reboots during the boot process. It just randomly reboots while the computer is running.
