Windows 10: How can I fix my boot up time without a complete reinstall of Windows?

So this issue started out of the blue with no warning. I went to turn on my PC and it took around 5 minutes to actually boot up. The startup goes like this; Hit the power button -> BIOS screen with with ASUS TUF logo and "Press F2 or DEL to enter BIOS" shows normally for a few seconds -> the screen then goes black for about 5 minutes before the ASUS TUF logo appears again -> Then it takes about 30 seconds for the Windows loading circle to show up -> After that its all normal and there are absolutely no issues once Windows has loaded to the login screen. Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

[Solved] Windows 10 keeps reinstalling KB3119142

I noticed quite some time ago that KB3119142 (Update for Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 Update 4 Redistributable Package) kept reinstalling itself for some reason. At least once daily. Sometimes up to several times a day. I just ignored it. It didn't seem to be doing any harm. And I figured they'd eventually fix it. Well...days turned into weeks, weeks into months, with no end to the problem in sight. It dragged on unsolved for at least the last few months. Literally reinstalling itself hundreds of(at least a hundred, felt like more) times in that period of time.

So I finally googled it a couple days ago. And just got around to fixing it today. Which appears to have worked. And it couldn't have been easier to do. I feel so stupid to have let it intimidate me for so long.*Oops!
