Windows 10: Windows Explorer aka File explorer crashes in Windows 11

This Windows 11 bug can be reproduced on any Windows 11 version.I have a zip file created in Linux.I needed to update zipped content, so I unzipped zip file, updated content and tried to zip it back...Well, the explorer.exe process crashed, and was restarted by OS Win11.I traced it down to all zipped files aka zipped entries did not have Date/Time and had 0 values instead in zip central directory 0x50 0x4B 0x01 0x02 as well as in local file headers 0x50 0x4B 0x03 0x04.I noticed that when after unzipping a file all dates were shown as year of 1601 in File Explorer.Since zip algorithm se

Windows explorer crashing

Hi,

I am having the same problem as the OP in this thread.
Windows Explorer crashes whenever I open my external HDD or thumb drive in explorer..

I have tried the fixes listed in the above thread and I am getting the same error message as 'ktadie' (post 16). I think this is because I am running Windows 7 Professional. Windows explorer crashes when I open my 'Films' folder on my brand new 2tb external HDD. I have about 300 .avi files in this folder and some of the .avi files are several years old.

In short I believe I need the same fix given by 'Wile E' (post 7) but updated for Windows 7 Professional.

I don't use Internet Explorer, I meant the thing where you can look at files etc. Hotkey Windows+E. Maybe it's the wrong name in english though. *Stick Out Tongue

are you running IE7? if not that wouold be my first suggestion,upgrade to ie7 that can fix some stability issues with windows explorer
