Windows 10: OneDrive and iCloud App Running Very Slowly

Hello,I'm running Win 11 Pro 24H2, OS Build 26100.3476, Feature Experience Pack 1000.26100.54.0 with all updates installed. All App updates are up to date as well.Although my internet connection is running at its normal speed, both the OneDrive and the iCloud Desktop apps are almost completely non-responsive when accessed through File Explorer.For example, when I click on a folder in either of these roots, it takes over thirty seconds for the folder to open. Successive folders up the file tree are each equally tardy to respond. File access is also painfully slow for files stored therein.T

Windows 10 - OneDrive

Right click on the app and one of the properties has an option to not automatically start it. Uncheck, restart the computer, and it should stop. If you want to go another step further, find the OneDrive app in the start menu, right click on it and uninstall.

If that is still insufficient, there is a batch uninstaller for OneDrive available online. I can copy the code here if you need it.

 

remove iCloud

Hi Phil, I'm Graeme, an independent adviser here to help.

To remove iCloud, you can follow the below steps:

- Click Start and type "Apps & Features".

- Select the first result.

- In the list, find iCloud, then select it and choose Uninstall.

After it runs through the necessary steps, iCloud should be uninstalled. If it's not, please let me know and I'll provide additional options! Thanks!

1. Are you aware of making any changes to the computer prior to the issue?
   
2. Do you receive any error message when the spinner stops?
   

I suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below:

Method 1: Uninstall iCloud application.


I would suggest you to Sign out from the iCloud account from the app, then uninstall the application.

1. Press Windows
   and R key together on your Keyboard.
   
2. Type appwiz.cpl and hit enter.
   
3. Select the iCloud application and click on Uninstall.
   

Method 2: Reinstall iCloud application.


Step 1:

I would suggest you to ‘Download
the latest version of iCloud’
from the apple website. Follow the Onscreen instructions and install the application. For more information, check the article on
Set up and use iCloud for Windows.


Step 2:

Once the installation is completed, tap on the Windows key on your keyboard, search for ICloud app. Right click on the app and click on
Pin to taskbar.
