Windows 10: Bitlocker recovery key not working. Key is correct and is accepted but unlock does not work.

My Dell laptop is requesting a bitlocker key on startup.I have the correct key from my MS account and it is accepted and 'unlocking ' is displayed .The PC then trys to reload but reports an errorIt then goes back to requesting the bitlicker key again. I have tried this several times and have also used the command line interface and the 'manage-bde' command with the unlock parameter.However it reports that it cannot access the drive because it's locked.Seems like a deadly embrace.Am I now forced to get th OS reloaded?

Windows BitLocker Recovery Key Not Working (Failed to unlock with this recovery key)

We have a system with BitLocker Enabled. The system requested a recovery key and we entered the correct 48-digit recovery password based on the provided Recovery Key ID. However, after entering the recovery key, it says "Failed to unlock with this recovery key" may I know how to solve the issue and how we get the file on the disk if the recovery is not working?

Hello, I have got a blue screen with request to enter BitLocker recovery key. I logged in to my account and used listed recovery key. But this recovery key does not help and there is no other option to get access to PC anymore. I looked into all possible information on web pages but still I did not find solution if you have bitLocker key but it is not working to unlock PC.

 

Bitlocker Recovery Key is not working

I have an Asus laptop that we attempted to configure Bitlocker to encrypt the OS drive C: using a USB drive for the startup key. When going through the process to configure this we checked the option to do a startup check before encrypting the drive and
I also saved the recovery key to the cloud (this is an Azure joined computer on a Microsoft 365 Business Basic tenant).

Upon initial restart to enable Bitlocker, it immediately had trouble booting up and went into startup repair mode where it wanted us to enter the recovery key. It won't accept the recovery key despite the fact that it is the correct recovery key and the
entire Bitlocker key ID matches exactly with the Key ID being displayed on the screen.

I have tried using manage-bde at a command prompt to unlock it and I have tried pulling the hard drive and hooking up to a test machine, booting up to our test machine's Windows 10 OS and attempting to unlock it with the recovery key that way. No matter
what I do it rejects the recovery key.

Is there no other option than wiping and reformatting the drive?

Not really understanding why it rejects the correct recovery key. The only thing that I can think of is that it was on a somewhat slow internet connection at the time that Bitlocker was attempted to be setup on it.
