Windows 10: Threshold of Taskbar Thumbnails to Show List

So I believe that this may be part of a windows issue not really sure.I use Microsoft windows Excel and sometimes for work reasons I will have 10 or more work sheets open at the same time. I don't know what changed but something did. but when I would open a certain amount of Excel windows you will see in the taskbar when hovering over the excel icon the individual windows opening and you will see them open horizontally so you can click on which ever you want. however when I got to the point of 10 or more what would happen is instead of individual windows it would switch to a list view when hov

This would be from the taskbar threshold limit to show a list instead of thumbnails. You can change the threshold limit using the tutorial below to increase it. Setting it to "0" (zero) will always show thumbnails.

It looks like you may have set your taskbar thumbnails threshold too low by mistake.

Check to see what you have for the NumThumbnails DWORD value, and adjust as/if needed.
