Windows 10: Copied "sent" faxes from my old Windows 10 Home to new Windows 11 Home. Why don't the...

Migrated from a windows 10 computer, to a new windows 11 computer. I copied all my sent item faxes from old Windows 10 computer to a flash drive. Then I pasted all the copied faxes into the sent item folder, on the Windows 11. When I opened windows fax and scan, the faxes did not show in the sent item folder. I sent a test fax, and saw that fax now appeared solo, in the sent items folder. Used windows explorer to see all the old sent faxes AND the new sent fax in the sent items folder. I think that tells me I am using the right folders, but there is something that is preventing me from

Windows FAX and SCAN - Fax missing in Sent Items and Inbox folder

Hi,

I suggest to uninstall the scanner and fax drivers from the device manager and then re-add the fax modem. Restart the computer and create a new connection.

Follow the steps to uninstall the Scanner and fax drivers:

• 
  Press Windows Key + X key and click
  Device Manager.
  
• 
  Expand ‘Other Devices.
  
• 
  Right-click on the devices listed and click on ‘Uninstall’.

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Windows10 fax and Scan folders

Unstumped! Thanks for the push Ken, into sending a new fax. The light eventually dawned on me that the file names of the sent faxes differed over several groups of characters to those of the 'new' sent fax. After a laborious cut and paste operation on all sent faxes I now have a complete record.

Out of interest, I also found this useful 'help' from M$ for missing 'sent' faxes.

• Go to the Control Panel and select Programs and features.
• On the left side select Turn Windows Features on or off.
• Scroll down to Print and Document services.
• Select the plus sign to expand.
• Remove the check from Windows FAX and Scan.
• Select OK.

To install repeat the steps and put a check mark, restart the computer.
