I think it's more frequent when I play a game, but the PC is still running. Everything runs fine even when I play games, it doesn't stutter, it runs smoothly. I was also looking all over the internet. People say it might be because of a connected Xbox controller, I do have one connected. However, I don't think that might be the issue. What I did so f

    Help! Screen turns black but computer still runs!

    It shuts off randomly while using it. The monitor goes black and loses signal but the PC continues to run (Lights and fans) it will only reboot if I completely shut it off and on. I

    If I attach the monitor to either of the display ports with the BLUE dots... and then reboot the computer, the BIOS splash screen shows up on the TV, and the monitor is BLACK. It stays this way until it gets to the Windows loading screen, and then I see that... on the monitor.

    The ONLY way I can get the BIOS splash screen and the Windows loading screen to BOTH show on the monitor, is to plug the monitor into the GREEN display port on the video card. When the monitor is hooked to the GREEN display port, the monitor never goes... BLACK.

    I think your problem is similar to this. In other words, in Nvidia control panel you need to set the monitor to be the "primary" display (shown by the asterisk). THEN you need to plug the monitor into each of the remaining vid card connectors, until you find the one that DOESN'T cause the problem you are having.
