  1. Active signal resolution and display scaling

At some point in the last 2 years, it would seem that there was a Windows 11 patch, which screwed up the display scaling. Whatever resolution you setup for the desktop, or games, the actual physical signal to the monitor will always be at its native resolution. Regardless of whether you disable GPU scaling, and switch to Display scaling in your GPU drivers, Windows WILL NOT obey that setting. It will still always do GPU scaling. And it DOESN'T work well, as Windows doesn't scale content to its aspect ratio, but always to full-screen. It introduces the following issues:1. I have a widescreen di

desktop resolution and active signal resolution

    Hi MayonAccounting,

it is normal if you change from the recommended resolution.

Typically, your desktop resolution and your active signal resolution will be identical. To provide a smoother experience, Windows prefers to keep your display running at its native signal resolution. If you change your display resolution under Settings > System
    > Display > Scale and layout > Resolution, you may see a difference between your desktop resolution and your active signal resolution.

is there a problem with what you see on the monitor?

Changing Active Signal Resolution on a 2nd display - 1st display works, 2nd display does not

Have 2 displays connected to my ASUS motherboard running Windows 10. Both displays (HP & AUO flat panel) originally had the Active Signal Resolution set to 1920x1080 and the Desktop Resolution set to 1024x768.

I tried changing the Active Signal Resolution in Windows 10, but could never get it changed so I downloaded the Intel Graphics Command Center program. My board has Intel HD Graphics 500 driver from 2/3/22.

Using the Intel Graphics Command Center, I was able to change the HP display to "Maintain Display Scaling" which did change the Active Signal Resolution from 1920x1080 to 1024x768.

When I use the Intel Graphics Command Center and try to change AUO flat panel display to "Maintain Display Scaling" it never changes the Active Signal Resolution to the 1024x768 which I need. It always stays at 1920x1080. I know this AUO flat panel can display 1024x768 because it works in Windows 7 & Windows CE !

So, how do I change the Active Signal Resolution to 1024x768 for this AUO display in Windows 10? Is there a registry mod I can make?

desktop resolution and active signal resolution

I have my desktop resolution set at 1280 x 1024, which is what I want,

but the active signal resolution is set at 1920 x 1080.

Where can I change the active signal resolution to 1280 x 1024?

I have tried going to "display adapter properties" and list all modes,

but this only lets me change the desktop resolution.
