Windows 10: My PC is connected via Ethernet to my router, but it says I have no internet.

I have tried resetting my internet multiple times, and other devices on the internet are fine. I have tried a new ethernet cable and it still did not work. I have tried resetting my PC multiple times and it still did not work. I have tried the troubleshooting tips from my PC. I have tried uninstalling my and reinstalling the ethernet driver? Forgive me I am not a computer genius and had multiple people trying to walk me through various things In the end nothing has worked. I am not sure what else to do.

Using a router to connect PC with Ethernet

Their is only one phone jack where a modem can be placed in our house and it is to complicated to get Ethernet from the modem up to my computer. I can still connect with wireless internet but I want to be able to use Ethernet. The modem is a all in one (router+modem). If I buy a router and place it in my room can it connect to the all in one modem without using a phone jack (Just plugging it into the power outlet) alowing me to connect the router to the PC using Ethernet?

 

Ethernet plugged in but no internet

I have FiOS internet. An Ethernet cable runs from the outside box into my router. From there I use an Ethernet cable running from the router into my PC. I have never had Internet problems until yesterday. I remoted into my PC. I opened a browser, and it said no internet. Seemend strange seeing I could remote in. I went through troubleshooting steps, and eventually got kicked out of my PC.

I get home, and power cycle to PC and the router. Nothing. I check all connections in my house, everything is connected. I take to Ethernet cable and plug it into my Mac. I get internet. The only thing not getting Internet is my PC.

I have no idea what to do. Many suggestions say to update things. How do you update anything if you cant reach the Internet? It's as if something is blocking my internet access on my PC.

It doesn't have wi-fi so I can't connect that way. I have tried to plug in the Ethernet cable into the USB and still no internet. I get messages that I'm on my local network, but no internet.
