Windows 10: How can I change where apple iCloud photos are uploaded to my PC on windows 10?

Hi there, I am trying to upload iCloud images and videos from my device to my PC. On the iCloud application, it will not allow me to change where the photos will be uploaded, this is an issue because the selected drive is nearly out of storage. I would like to select a hard drive.

Icloud photos not synched with windows 10

Hi I have tried to sync icloud photos with windows 10 PC (originally installed in windows 7). However the icloud upload and download folders remain empty even after restart/reinstall of icloud. According to notifications icloud photos should be updated - but that's not correct as nothing has been updated. Have talked to apple support, so far no solution. Manual download from icloud works fine if you e.g. start icloud under chrome, so issue is only automatic sync. Also I have verified that automatic sync works fine if you use a PC installed in windows 10. Setup: Windows 10 PC lan attached with latest updates and avast AV Icloud installed via MS store as prescribed by Apple. Br Peter

1. Open iCloud for Windows on your PC.

2. Click on the "Options" button next to Photos.

3. Select "iCloud Photo Library" and "Upload new photos and videos from my PC".

4. Click on "Change" to select the folder where your legacy photos are stored.

5. Click on "Apply" and then "Done".



This will upload your legacy photos to iCloud and make them available on your new iPhone.



As for getting your original iCloud photos back, you can try restoring them from a backup. If you have a backup of your iCloud photos, you can restore them by following these steps:



1. Open iCloud.com on your web browser.

2. Click on "Photos" and select the photos you want to restore.

3. Click on the "Download" button to download the photos to your PC.

4. Open the Photos app on your PC and import the downloaded photos.



If you don't have a backup of your iCloud photos, unfortunately, it may not be possible to recover them.

How to Upload Folders of Photos to Albums on iCloud?

I'm trying to determine the best way to migrate multiple folders of photos on Windows 10 to iCloud.

Currently, I'm copying each folder of photos to the iCloud Photos\Uploads folder, which successfully uploads the photos to iCloud, however, the photos do not appear in albums and are therefore no longer grouped.

Is there a way to upload a folder of photos so that it appears in an album on iCloud, or do I have to manually create the album and move the photos into it after uploading?

Also, after uploading the folder of photos, should I delete the folder from the Uploads folder?
