    Windows 10 Update KB5052077 and KB50501888. These updates cause freezing at reboot at 98%.


    Hi, Since Microsoft will no longer support Windows 10 after October 2025, what should I do. No matter what, these last two updates are not installing. I have tried all of the troubleshooting steps, to no avail. Anyone else having issues?Thank you.

    Windows 98 and ME no longer updatable...

    Quite right, XP is still listed in technet. Win 98 unfortunately isn't. Windows 3.1 and 3.2 are listed though.

    Windows updates causing lockup

    Hi guys.

    No, I cant even get the update screen. I cant find a answer on the internet.

    Start -> all programs --> windows update --> check for updates.

    10 seconds later, complete system lock up requiring a hard reboot. If I try to install a printer that needs to check windows update, same thing.

    I even tried the windows update troubleshooter Windows Update: FAQ - Microsoft Support

    Then that program 'checks for solutions online', and then hard lock again. VERY frustrating. What would be causing this?

    Windows 98 and ME no longer updatable...

    And @ Service Packs: They are updates to the OS, so support on them is not really applicable. Support for Starter, Home Premium and Ultimate ends in 2012-04-10. Quite soon actually.
