    Windows aren't dragging properly


    Hello, I am currently experiencing an issue with my computer where windows and pop-ups won't properly drag across my screen. They instead pop up as white clear boxes first then snap into position after I let go see the attached videos. Prior to this I left the computer to charge overnight so I'm assuming it was some form of update that may have done it, however it was not a windows update no log of it in the update menu. I also thought it was my browser at first so I ended up doing a browser reset and clear, stilll nothing. I have updated to the latest windows 24H2 and this still ha

    Hi,

    Thank you for posting your query at Microsoft community.

    Do the apps work fine apart form the icons not displaying correctly? If so I would suggest you to run an SFC scan and check if it helps. If the issue persists you may run DISM command and check.

    Follow this steps:


      • Press Windows+X.

      • Click on Command Prompt (Admin).

      • Type the command SFC /SCANNOW and
        DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth and hit
        Enter.

    Drag and Drop

    Hi Charles,

    the steps you suggested didn't work for me but, when pressing the escape key it somehow expanded the drive and by using drag and drop to the single file in the list worked.

    In the past I could drag and drop multiple folders onto the drive on the network computer(s). Doing it on individual folders will take far too long and time consuming and is not an option.

    Microsoft should be able to identify what is blocking it and issue a fix.

    My machine is multi boot so tomorrow I will try with Windows 7.
