Windows 10: Why am I getting sound from connected speakers even though my Bluetooth headphones are...

When I connect my Bluetooth earbuds to my PC the sound is still coming from my computer speakers. I'm running Windows 11 Pro Version 24H2 OS build 26100.3194 Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.26100.48.0 On a Dell XPS 8940 DesktopProcessor IntelR CoreTM i7-10700 CPU @ 2.90GHz 2.90 GHz Installed RAM 16.0 GB 15.7 GB usable System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor I have restarted the device. Removed and re-connected the earbuds. Connected the earbuds to another device without issues. Rolled back and updated the Bluetooth driver. Disconnected the speakers. Not

Stereo Bluetooth Headphones do not reproduce stereo sound

Bluetooth 4.x headsets (headphones with microphone) have two modes:
1. Stereo headset speakers with NO microphone
2. Mono headset speakers with microphone

I see in the listing for your headphones it shows a microphone. Make sure your the audio is configured correctly so that you have stereo headphone speakers.

With your headphones connected with Bluetooth

Left-click on little speaker (bottom right on desktop)





You should see current speaker for computer
In this example headphones in stereo is selected





If you click on Headphones you will bring up all options

Right-click on little speaker (bottom right on desktop)





Select Sounds from list





If you want Stereo Headphones but NO microphone

Select Playback tab
Make sure Headphones is the current playback device





Select Recording tab
Make sure Microphone array (or similar) is the current recording device

 

Cannot connect to bluetooth headphones after upgrade to Win10


I upgraded my Lenovo W530 running Win7 Pro 64 bit to Windows 10. After the upgrade I can no longer connect to my bluetooth headphones which worked before the upgrade. The bluetooth radio is on. When I click Connect in the Action Center it shows that the headphones are connected but they are not. The headphones (actually my hearing aids) play a notification sound when a bluetooth connection is made and I never hear that sound. If I play music the sound goes to the speaker, not my headphones. I have removed the headphones and repaired them. I have checked that all of the bluetooth device drivers are up to date in Device Manager. I would really appreciate any suggestions to solve this problem. Thanks.

 

Speakers not working while bluetooth headphones are connected

I noticed that after I connected my bluetooth headphones my speakers are not working. I would like to have my speakers working as I can disable the audio path to them with a switch. Is there a setting I can change to get the speakers back while still allowing my bluetooth headphones to still work?
