    Secure Boot DBX Update Failure Event ID 1796 – Tried Everything, Still Happens


    Hello everyone,I’m encountering a persistent issue with Event ID 1796 TPM-WMI related to a Secure Boot DBX update failure on my brand-new PC running Windows 11 24H2.Error Message:The Secure Boot update failed to update a Secure Boot variable with error Secure Boot is not enabled on this machine. System Specs:Motherboard: Gigabyte B650M GAMING X AX rev. 1.3CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 8600GBIOS Version: FB3i latestOS: Windows 11 24H2 clean install Issue Details:The error appears at every boot in Event Viewer.My PC randomly rebooted due to this issue before, though that has improved."Restore Fac

    Event ID 124 after dbx update

    I successfully activated the recent dbx update from Microsoft, dated May 9. ( I checked that I got Event ID 1035: "Secure Boot DBX update applied successfully.")

    Now, my computer gets an error at every boot:

    Event ID: 124
    Source: Kernel-Boot
    "The virtualization-based security enablement policy check at phase 6 failed with status: Unknown NTSTATUS Error code: 0xc000ffff"

    I did not get this error with any previous dbx revocation list updates.

    I have Googled this and have found no solution. Does anyone have an idea what this error message means and how to fix it?

    My computer runs Windows 11 Pro, Version 22H2 (OS Build 22621.1778)

    Thanks!

    P.S.--I have already tries a repair install of the OS, but it did not help.
