Windows 10: After 2024H2 for Windows 11, the download speed in wi-fi dropped from 100 to 40-50.

After 2024H2 update, the wifi download speed has been only about half of what is should be on my desktop. It should be 100/20, but is 40-50/20. I installed Linux Ubuntu to same desktop and wifi is working fine there i.e. 100/20, as well as on my phone and tablet. It seems that there are lots of users having the same issue, so pls fix it. Linux is always an option.

Wi-Fi Option Not Showing in Windows 11

I am experiencing an issue with my Windows 11 device where the Wi-Fi option is not appearing. I have tried several troubleshooting steps, but none have resolved the problem. Could anyone please provide guidance or suggest potential solutions? Here are the steps I have taken so far:

1. Restarted my computer.
   
2. Checked for Windows updates and installed any available updates.
   
3. Verified that the Wi-Fi adapter is enabled in Device Manager.
   
4. Ran the network troubleshooter.
   

Despite these efforts, the Wi-Fi option is still missing from the network settings.

After KB3093266 update Wi-Fi downloading speed decreased 50%

After installing Microsoft latest cumulative update KB3093266 Wi-Fi performance of my windows 10 laptop decreases over 50% . The uploading speed is fine but downloading speed varies too much . I try to solve the problem by reinstalling Wi-Fi driver but
it does not solve it. Two of my friends too have my same problem after installing this update. They have roll back to windows 8.1 do to windows 10 Wi-Fi issue. I solve the problem by uninstalling it but since we can't stop windows update in windows 10 the
update install again . It is not convenient to use Ethernet cable every time I use my laptop , so can you tell me a solution to this problem. I really don't want to go back to windows 8.1 as my friends does since I love windows 10 new features and performance.

 

Reported Wi-Fi speed wrong

The way Windows calculates the Wi-Fi speed never really translates down to the actual transfer rate. However, since you are seeing some big difference here, I suggest the following:

1) Try switching between 20 and 40 Mhz.

2) Investigate possible sources of EM interference.

3) Try moving closer to the access point.

In case these don't work, it is most likely a problem with either the network card or the access point.
