  1. Why can I no longer access my bios any time I restart? I am running Windows 11 Home 64-bit

I built a new gaming PC. The motherboard I have is a ASUS ROG Strix X870E-E Gaming WiFi AMD, not Intel and I have all of the proper drivers, firmware and latest BIOS installed, as well as all Windows Updates.Any time I restart my computer or boot up from it being powered down, I no longer see the post screen that prompts you if you would like to access the BIOS. Screen stays black until Windows starts and prompts me for my PIN to login. Nothing I try allows me to access my BIOS. What can I do?

    :)

  2. access BIOS settings in Win 10

I have an 8-year old computer running Win 10. I need to access the BIOS settings. It used to be the holding down the F2 key during startup would bring up the BIOS screen in Windows computers. But this no longer works. A web article listed a complicated
series of steps leading to a reboot . . . but still no access to BIOS. Any suggestions?

  3. Unable to Sync Time with Internet Time: Windows 11 Home 64 Bit

    Hello,

I’m sorry to hear that you’re having trouble syncing your laptop’s time with an internet time server on Windows 11 Home 64-bit. It sounds like you’ve already tried several troubleshooting steps, including changing the system locale, manually trying different time servers, and editing the registry, but none of these steps have resolved the issue.

Here are some additional steps you can try to troubleshoot the issue:

    1. Check your firewall and antivirus settings: Make sure that your firewall and antivirus software are not blocking the connection to the time server. You may need to add an exception for the time server in your firewall or antivirus settings.
    2. Check your network connection: Make sure that your laptop is connected to the internet and that your network connection is stable. You can try resetting your network adapter or restarting your router/modem to see if that helps.
    3. Try using a different time server: You can try using a different time server to see if that resolves the issue. To do this, open the Date and Time settings in Windows, click on “Additional date, time, & regional settings”, then click on “Set the time and date”. In the new window, click on the “Internet Time” tab, then click on “Change settings”. From there, you can enter the address of a different time server and click on “Update now” to see if that helps.
If none of these steps help, you may want to consider reinstalling Windows 11 as a last resort. This will erase all data on your laptop and reinstall Windows, allowing you to set up a new user account and start fresh.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any further questions

    Windows XP 64-bit is gold

Several Websites report that Windows XP 64-bit has reached gold status and is on the way to the CD manufacturer.

MSDN subscribers can already download the final release of Windows XP 64-Bit Edition.

The top 5 reasons to upgrade are (from MS Website):
    • High performance platform for the next generation of applications: Windows XP Professional x64 Edition is a rich platform that enables the next generation of high-performance computing. 64-bit native applications can deliver more data per clock cycle, making them run faster and more efficiently.
    • Large memory support: Windows XP Professional x64 Edition will currently support up to 128 gigabytes (GB) of RAM and 16 terabytes of virtual memory, enabling applications to run faster when working with large data sets. Applications can preload substantially more data into virtual memory, allowing rapid access by the 64-bit processor.
    • Flexibility: Windows XP Professional x64 Edition provides a rich platform to integrate 64-bit technical applications and existing 32-bit business applications using the Windows on Windows 64 (WOW64) x86 emulation layer, providing customers with the ability to move to 64-bit computing without having to sacrifice their existing investment in 32-bit software and Windows expertise.
    • Multiprocessing and multicore: Windows XP Professional x64 Edition is designed to support up to two single or multicore x64 processors for maximum performance and scalability.
    • Same programming model: Developers with 32-bit skills will be comfortable and quickly productive in the 64-bit Windows environment, finding it virtually identical to the development environment for 32-bit Windows.
I have seen many reviews which compare 64-bit vs. 32-bit and there is not much gain to see, unless you use specialized applications.
