Windows 10: windows Update error code 0x800f0831

After my computer hung up whist going to a previous restore point .I lost my windows activation, the start menu does not work and updates are getting the above error message.I have tried an in place repair but that did not work and i am told that is because of the update issues i am having.The problem started on 22 November 2024.I have managed to get my account activated.the windows update troubleshooter could not find the problem.today update 2025-02 cumulative update for windows 10 version 22H2 KB5051974 downloaded ok but when reaching 100% installation error code 0x800f0831 appeared.As th

Windows 10 updates - Error 0x800f0831

I have a persistent 0x800f0831 error on a couple of Windows 10 Pro (build 19044) machines. It's been weeks since Updates are stuck, and I get this error.

I have tried whatever method I could find:

• Followed the steps provided by the Microsoft support chatbot, i.e. running DISM (/scanhealth, /checkhealth, /restorehealth).
  
• Run the Updates additional troubleshooter.
  
• Tried various (popular it seems) methods found on the internet, including stopping and starting update-related services while deleting various windows folders etc.
  

Nothing works. I am open to other suggestions. Machines are i5 16GB RAM.

Any more tips are apprieciated.
