Windows 10: Win 10 to 11 changed Outlook365 from POP3 to IMAP

I migrated my Win10 PC to Win11 shortly after it came out. In the process it changed my Outlook 365 from POP3 to IMAP without me asking it to. It was a royal pain trying to convert it back to POP3 without losing any of the emails I had in local folders.My wife's PC is still Win10 but she now willing to migrate to Win11. I DO NOT want to go through the process of having to convert her Outlook365 from IMAP back to POP3. My email provider is cox.net which last year switched over to having Yahoo be the administrator for its email. So basically my email comes into Yahoo mail and automatically trans

Pop3 from Imap

Hi Max,

Kindly be guided that IMAP settings was designed with no option to convert an email to POP3. What we can do is to: (1) Add your POP3 email account. (2) Transfer your mail folders and (3) Remove your current IMAP Account.

Gmail (POP3 / IMAP) access with WM6?

Hello,

I have difficulties getting my Samsung i780 to access my Gmail account. I followed all the steps mentioned on Gmail's and Windows Mobile's website on setting up an email account (e.g. enabled POP3 access, IMAP, specified incoming, outgoing email-server, etcetera)
but when I select menu -> Send/Receive, I get the message
'Cannot Connect' Cannot connect with current connection settings. To change your connection settings, tap Settings.

Any suggestions, anyone?

OK,

For Goal 1 I did exactly as you state.

I copied my contacts into Outlook365. I have 138 contacts with all info, including pictures. I also have a user defined field indicating the computer name which is the source of the contacts.

All 138 contacts synced from Outlook365 to Outlook.com. I could watch the sync.

Then, I watched as duplicate contacts were created in Outlook365.

I should not have duplicate contacts created in Outlook365, correct?

Observations:

• 
  The original contacts in Outlook365 have a user defined field with the name of the device from which the contact was created.
  The duplicate contact does not have data in that user defined field.
  
• 
  If I delete the original contact from contacts in Outlook365, the contact is not deleted from outlook.com.
  
• 
  If I delete the duplicate contact from Outlook365 then the contact is deleted from outlook.com
  
• 
  If I edit the original contact in contacts in Outlook365 the edit is not changed
  in the duplicate or on outlook.com
  
• 
  If I edit the duplicate contact in Outlook365 then the edit is synced in outlook.com
  
• 
  I NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM WITH THE FREE GMAIL SYNC OF CONTACTS.
  

After 2 hours with Microsoft technical support, I was told:

• 
  The only solution is to delete manually the created duplicates.
  
• 
  I could not be informed as to why the free Google sync did not create duplicates but the paid for Microsoft stuff creates duplicates.
  

The call was recorded for quality assurance and I do have the call reference number.

Suggestions?
