Windows 10: Windows 10 - black screen, no mouse, no login screen

My Windows 10 pc is showing black screen after booting, there is no mouse and no login screen.Things i have tried:- win + shift + ctrl + b- repair on boot- sfc /scannow /offbootdir=D:\ /offwindir=D:\Windows - chkdsk /f /r- going into safe mode the screen is still black- restore points there are none- uninstalling updates windows couldn't uninstall updatesI'd rather leave reinstalling/clearing system as a last resort.Please help, I'm happy to give more details if you need them.

Black screen with mouse?

i seem to be getting this alot lately. how do i solve it?

windows boots, welcomes, then i get black screen with mouse and nothing else. mouse works, its not frozen. it will sit at that screen for hours.

Windows 10 black screen with mouse pointer after login screen

Installed Windows 10 update over Windows 7 on an HP Pavilion dv6 notebook, i7 2.0GHz 64bit , 8GB RAM, 700GB HDD.

After successful login, the desktop comes up normal for about 30 seconds then goes black. the mouse pointer still works and I can run task manager and run apps through there.

Any suggestions to fix the black screens?
