Windows 10: Does KB5053117 cause wpeutil reboot/shutdown to fail?

Discus and support Does KB5053117 cause wpeutil reboot/shutdown to fail? in Windows 10 Software and Apps to solve the problem; I build a rescue media using WinRE. I use the wpeutil shutdown and wpeutil reboot commands but find that they are now failing with error 0x80070006....     Does KB5053117 cause wpeutil reboot/shutdown to fail?


    I build a rescue media using WinRE. I use the wpeutil shutdown and wpeutil reboot commands but find that they are now failing with error 0x80070006. This appear to be a new issue when using WinRE version 10.0.26100.3031, which has WinRE updates via KB5053117.Can anyone confirm this? Is there a better way to initiate a restart or shutdown?
