Windows 10: Won’t enter recovery code for factory reset

I’m trying to factory reboot my HP envy x360. I have my recovery code on hand and ready to use however after pressing f11 several times to enter recovery mode and going to reset and remove everything, the cursor in the line won’t type and will not enter any letters and numbers on the keyboard at all. It’s frozen blank and will not enter any key I press. Why? And how can I fix this, I simply just want to reboot remove everything on my laptop. I have tried shutting down and starting over but it never works. UPDATE: It lets me type numbers but not letters.

*Bang Head :banghead:i have a dgm LTV-2261WCR 22" DVD combi which i use as my monitor and tv, however since the visit of the ex's brat ive found the child lock is active. i need to retune the tv, as losing freeview channels rapidly, can ne1 help me with a factory reset/override code?

No..do you know how to tell me a step by step...right now I'm actually trying to place the computer to the day we got it.

Which steps did you perform? Was this from a clean boot?
Open administrative command prompt and type or copy and paste this command: shutdown /r /o /f /t 00
It will boot to the recovery options or windows advanced troubleshooting menu.
Click troubleshooting and click reset this computer. You will be saving files. Applications and programs will be removed. Windows will be reinstalled.
Enter your windows logon password.
You will see getting things ready with rotating dots.
Click resetting this PC.
It will then display the HP logo with resetting this PC with rotating dots and a percentage.
