Windows 10: Email address is associated with another account.

My email address is still associated with my ex-husbands account/s, even though I had it years before I knew him. its either still his back up email or because we were on a family plan and I was the contact email address. I can't find a way to fix this problem on my own and he wouldn't know how to help if I asked. I have to sign in with my alternate email. It bugs me and I have some places I cannot sign-in at all. Error message says this email address is associated with another account. I have had the same email forever and just want to get me off the 2 accounts I created for him. We each have

It is more than likely that your email account was hacked, either by a virus sniffing your password, or just simply hacked.

Either way, change your password on your email account. Unfortunately the damage by already be done. They already have your contact list and your email address associated with that contact list. There is nothing stopping them from sending out emails using their own SMTP servers to everyone on your contact list and claiming the emails are from your email address. They don't actually have to have access to your yahoo account or even any yahoo server to send emails to people that come from your address.

I am going to attempt to follow your instructions. However, to be honest I'm not completely sure I understand what you are suggesting here. I actually DO have control of this email address. I am currently using it as my preferred main email account for my own personal use at the moment.

It sounds like you are suggesting that this AOL email account has gotten into the hands of some other entity, such as aliens from another planet. Of course I know that you are in fact NOT suggesting that this is the case. But then, in fact what exactly ARE you suggesting about the AOL email account?

My thought was that it was previously set up by myself as a completely separate Microsoft Account, and that I must have stopped using it for this purpose, and then over time I may have forgotten that I had set it up for this ulterior purpose.

personal email address associated with another account

I was let go by a company that I believe I associated my personal email address with on their company account. I now want to associate it with my Microsoft personal account, but when putting it in as an alias, it states it's associated with another account
or is already used. How do I get my personal email address as an alias to my account?
