Windows 10: How do I fix WMP EDIT and Rate options being grayed out?

I thought that perhaps it's because I'm trying to right-click on the file within a playlist, that I might still need to add the actual file to the WMP library, and then, go right-click on it there, so as to get it so EDIT is not grayed out anymore, but I'm finding that I'm apparently not able to add any files to the library, even after having removed and reinstalled WMP and K-Lite Codec Pack Standard, when I follow the directions provided by Google AI, nothing is added to the WMP library... Thank you for your reply. I was responding to your thread at the beginning of this thread which TD replied "...it should be listed in Extended Tags as a tag called RATING WMP...". So, I just did what you suggested and voila! The ratings that I've entered in WMP all these years show up in MP3tag! However, unfortunately a new rating I entered in WMP just now does not. I even rebooted my PC and still no luck. Does it happen with you too? Have I missed any steps?

Mainly it involves creating a profile and putting higher 2D clocks:

 

WMP Problem

It should be there. Let's try again, step by step.

First, find out what version of Windows you have. Use the Winkey + R to bring up the 'Run' box, type Winver then click OK. You should see a version number, 1511, 1607 or 1703.

If you have 1703, open Settings > Apps. For any other version open Settings > System.

Click on Default in the list to the left (in 1703 it's called Default apps).

Scroll down the list to find 'Video player'. This will probably say the default is 'Films & TV'. Whatever it says, click on it to bring up a list of possible apps to set as the default. You should see something like this with Windows Media Player in the 'Choose an application' list. Click on Windows Media Player and it will become the default for all types of video.
