Windows 10: Windows 11 USB printer connection not working

I have a Kyocera FS1920 laser which works fine on my Dell Inspiron 660 MT660 desktop PC under Windows 10, via a USB connection, to port USB002.Due to support ending for Windows 10 this year I have bought a Windows 11 Dell Inspiron 3030.I have connected the printer using the same USB cable.I set up the printer using the manual set up. Under ports there was no USB shown, so I typed in USB001 also tried USB002 later. The printer driver for FS1920 was there, and I installed that. Everything seemed to be going fine.But when I try to print a test page or a document, nothing appears on the pr

But it does ask you to connect the printer

Step Two
11. Connect the USB cable to the product, and connect the USB cable to the computer. A Device driver software was not successfully installed window opens.

Step three:
3. Click the drop down menu, and then change the port from LPT1 to USB or DOT4.virtual

If you connect the printer in Step two #11 then maybe when you get to Step three #3 there will be USB port in the list.

First, I would suggest installing the actual driver package from Brother. While the printer may work with the fairly generic drivers that come with Windows 10, I've always found that I get better results from the actual Brother drivers.

I have a rather old Brother printer so the exact steps may be a bit different from yours, but in my case when I install the drivers it will search the network for available printers and allow me to specify the printer that it finds. If it does not find a printer, it may ask you to initially setup the printer via a direct connection (USB), and then configure the printer for network use (WiFi).

In any case, the installation wizard should guide you through the steps.

In order to get clarity and to assist you accordingly, please reply with the answers to the questions below.

• What is the Windows version and Build installed? (Type
  winver in Windows search/Run command)
  
• What is the make and model of the Printer?
  
• Did you try connecting the printer on a different USB port or a different PC?
  
• What was the KB number of the update installed, prior to this issue?
  
• Do you see any yellow exclamation mark in Printer device under Device Manager?
