    graphics card problems

    Hi,

Your computer makes a noise or beeps from your internal speaker because it failed to detect the graphics card. What we can suggest is for you to try cleaning your graphics card with a pencil eraser. Here are the steps below:

    • Turn your computer off.
    • Pull out your video/graphics card.
    • Rubbed the cold contacts with soft pencil eraser.
    • Connect your video/graphics card back to the computer.
Kindly note that this is just a temporary fix. If the case still continues, I suggest that you contact your graphics card's manufacturer.

Let us know how it goes.

    Graphics Card not detected anymore

From one day to another, my graphics card (Radeon HD 6870) was not detected anymore.

The card is not listed in the device manager anymore.

So far I tried: take the card out and put back in, to see if any contacts didn´t work, installing the latest AMD driver manually and I tried reseting my BIOS, but I´m not sure if I did it correctly.

    t still isn´t working.

    Dear Kenny Tran1,

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community

I understand with the challenges you’re facing with the graphics card performance on your Asus g16 laptop. It appears that the Intel UHD graphics card is bearing an unexpected load, while the 4050 graphics card isn’t being fully utilized. This imbalance could indeed lead to issues when executing basic tasks or enjoying your favorite games.

    • Performance Options: One of the first steps you can take is to ensure your system’s power settings are primed for performance. This can be achieved by navigating to the Power Options in the Control Panel and selecting the “High Performance” power plan. This adjustment could potentially enhance the overall performance of your system.
    • Solo Direct: Your gaming laptop comes equipped with its own system management software. Within this software, you might find a switch for Solo Direct. Activating this could allow you to maximize the use of your 4050 graphics card. Additionally, you may want to explore the BIOS settings to see if a similar switch exists there. If your model doesn’t support Solo Direct Connect, it’s possible that the Intel integrated graphics card is being overtaxed and the discrete graphics card is not being fully utilized.
    • Driver Update: I would also recommend downloading the latest adapted drivers from the ASUS website. This includes updates for BIOS drivers, chipset drivers, graphics card drivers, and more. Keeping your drivers up-to-date can often resolve performance issues.

If these suggestions do not alleviate the problem, it’s important to remember that this issue may not be strictly a Windows malfunction. The performance of the graphics card is largely determined by the manufacturer’s settings. In such a scenario, I would advise reaching out to ASUS support for further assistance. They may be able to provide more specific guidance based on the unique specifications of your laptop model.

I hope these steps provide some relief and improve your experience with your Asus g16 laptop. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any further questions or concerns. I'm here to help!
