Windows 10: Primary mouse button switching for no reason

HiMy windows 11 computer boots with the primary mouse button being on "left" which is what i want but after a short time of the computer loading for some reason the primary button swaps to "Right" without me doing anything. Tried heaps of things like uninstalling and reinstalling drivers and programs going into the registry editor and nothing has worked. Any help appreciated

Make sure that the Mouse setting is set correctly.

• In the search field on the Taskbar, type mouse.
• Select the change your mouse settings option in the search results.
• In the Settings window, under Select your primary button, change the selected option in the drop-down list from Left to Right or Right to Left.

If the issue still persist, try running the hardware and devices troubleshooter.
It reviews, diagnose and identifies operational or technical problems within a hardware device.

1. Press Windows Key +R, type Control Panel.

2. Type troubleshooting in the search bar, click on troubleshooting.

3. Click on Hardware and Devices.

4. Follow the steps from the wizard to run the troubleshooter.

Windows 10 can't configure primary mouse button

I have just upgraded from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 on my Lenovo laptop. Before upgrading, I had the inbuilt mouse buttons set so that the right button was the primary button. After upgrading I now find that these buttons are no longer 'switched', although
my touchpad and mouse buttons seem fine in all other respects. I don't need to know how to access 'button configuration'. I have stared at this many times! What I do need to know is why these buttons don't do what I want them to do, even though the 'switch
primary and secondary buttons' box is manifestly checked and (on the alternative mouse settings window), 'Select your primary button' has 'Right' beneath it. Suggestions welcome, particularly if easy to implement. (N.B. Running a check confirmed that the driver
was up to date, and as I said, everything else works!)

• Settings,
• Devices,
• Mouse,
• Additional mouse options,
• Buttons tab,
• Button configuration - Switch primary & secondary buttons.
