Windows 10: I am unable to load a program that cannot run the MSVCRT library file

I don't know why this message keeps popping up, but I had done the scans and everything else as I even had downloaded the C++ from 2012 that is a x86 program that was given to me from the folder as it listed a requirement to load this "Certain program to run it properly" and yet the message keeps on popping up, is there something that can solve my problem? Because really, I really need to have this fixed since I don't really know or understand what would keep giving me this message

Unable to run programs in Windows 10

To assist you better, I would like to know what exactly happens when you try to run the programs. Did you get any error message? Which was the previous Operating System installed on the computer?

I suggest you to run the program in Compatibility mode and check if it helps, please follow the below steps:

1) Right click on the Program

2) Click on Properties

3) Click on Compatibility tab

4) Select Run this program in compatibility mode and select the operating system accordingly (Windows 8 or 7) from the drop down list.

This issue could have occurred due to conflict between third party software\corrupted system files.

Let us try the following steps, and check if it helps.



Step 1: I suggest you to place the computer in a clean boot state and check if there are any software conflicts.



Clean Boot state helps in identifying if any third party applications or startup items are causing the issue.

(Applies to Windows 10 as well).



Note: Once you perform clean boot do refer to the section
How to reset the computer to start normally after clean boot troubleshooting to boot the computer in normal mode.



Step 2: Let us run SFC scan and see if it brings any difference.

The sfc /scannow (System File Checker) command scans all protected system files, and replaces incorrect versions with correct Microsoft versions.

1. Press Windows + X keys.

2. Click on Command Prompt (Admin) to bring up an elevated command prompt.

Note: Click Yes if it prompts for permission.

3. In the command prompt type in the following command and then press
Enter.

sfc /scannow



Step 3: Let us try to run the Deployment Image Servicing and Management command (DISM).

It detects incorrect manifests, cabinets or registry data, it may replace the incorrect data with corrected version available.

  Press Windows key + X.
  
• 
  Click command prompt (Run as administrator).
  
• 
  In the Administrator: Command Prompt window, type the following commands. Press
  Enter key after each command:
  
  DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth
  
  DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
  
• 
  To close the Administrator: Command prompt window, type
  Exit, and then press Enter.
