Windows 10: How does one fix the period key on keyboard prevent from transform/remap another symboḷ

I had changed keyboards to address this issue but the issue persistṣ This issue bothers me everytime I close a sentence with specific letterṣ <- like this!r+.=ṛ, l+.=ḷ, t+.=ṭ but c+.=c

External keyboard keys remapped

Hi, some keys on my external keyboard that I use with my laptop have been remapped.

They have been remapped like this:

2 remapped to Insert

3 remapped to Home

4 remapped to 'W'

5 remapped to Delete

I tried the laptop's inbuilt keyboard and there are no issues whatsoever. I don't know if it is a software or hardware issue.

 

Keyboard Keys Remapped for no reason

Yesterday, while browsing in Chrome, I realised that some of my keyboard keys had been remapped.

As I am writing this, I am using the touch keyboard to type.

Currently, these are the problem keys

n - <Notification Panel>

z - z7

7 - z7

WinKey - <Notification Panel> (on Win10, it was opening a new OneNote QuickNote)

Right-Arrow-Key - Screen Lock

This started on Win10.

After searching around and trying different suggestions I upgraded from Office Pro 2019 to Office Pro 2021

(I hoped this would fix the problem with OneNote) - no change.

In desperation, I then upgraded to Win11. After the initial installation, there was no change - in frustration I switched off (hibernate) the machine.

When I restarted the machine, there appeared to be some things still being set up or installed.

After a while, the keyboard seemed to be working like normal. I switched it off again.

Guess what, when I came back, the problem was back.

I hate the way Win11 has lost my Start Menu settings, I hate how the new Start Menu works - I will have to reinvent all my workflows.

And for what... rounded corners. This just added to my frustration.

From what I can tell, this problem of keys being remapped dates back at least 5 years. Many of the related threads terminate without a successful solution.

I am at a total loss as to move to make next.

All suggestions are welcome.
