My computer will not hibernate anymore it turns straight back on

On Windows 10, hibernate is brokenUse Hibernate in power options but turns back on and quite literally catches on fire in my bag.Other applications or drivers on Windows 11 can now cancel your hibernate command and the computer will still work at full power in your backpack - you will take it out at super-hot temperatures as there is no ventilation in a closed backpackI tried various solutions like- powercfg -requestsand overwrite some stuff here likepowercfg /requestsoverride PROCESS chrome.exe AWAYMODE DISPLAY SYSTEMPowercfg -requestsoverride Driver "Legacy Kernel Caller"

My computer will not hibernate anymore (it turns straight back on)

Hello, I'm Louie, and I'm happy to help you today. Hope you're doing well and safe there. I'm sorry that you're having trouble with your laptop not hibernating.

I would suggest you to follow these methods:

Method 1:How to fix hibernation using Power Troubleshooter

You can use the Power Troubleshooter to automatically resolve many common power problems, which also fix issues with the Hibernate option.

    Open Settings.

    Click on Update & Security.

    Click on Troubleshoot.

Under “Troubleshoot,” select the Power option.

Click the Run the troubleshooter button.

Continue with the on-screen directions to fix the hibernation problem.

Once you’ve completed the steps, using the Hibernate option on Windows 10 again to see if it works.

Method 2:How to fix hibernation using disabling Fast Startup

Using the Fast Startup option is usually the root of many power related problems on Windows 10. You can use the following steps to disable this option to see if it fixes your problem.

    Open Control Panel.

    Click on Hardware and Sound.

    Click on Power Options.

On the left pane, click the Choose what the power buttons do link.

Click the Change settings that are currently unavailable link.

Under “Shutdown settings,” clear the Turn on fast startup option.

    Click the Save Changes button.

After completing the steps, restart your computer, wait a few minutes, and then try to hibernate again.

If issue still continues, try to reset the power plans from your Windows 10 computer, or to delete your custom power plan – in case you have created one.

Go to your Start Screen and press “Wind + R” keyboard keys > in the Run box enter “control”. This will launch the Control Panel window.

Choose “Power Options” followed by “Edit Plan Settings”.

From there just select and delete the custom power plan or reset the default power plans that are featured on your Windows 10 device.

Hope this helps and looking forward for good results.

    Kind regards,

    Louie

On Windows 10, hibernate is broken

You close the lid and the laptop can catch fire in your backpack because Hibernate is not a reliable command anymore.

Other applications or drivers on Windows 10 can now cancel your hibernate command and the computer will still work at full power in your backpack - you will take it out at super-hot temperatures as there is no ventilation in a closed backpack

    I tried various solutions like

    - powercfg -requests

and overwrite some stuff here like
powercfg /requestsoverride PROCESS chrome.exe AWAYMODE DISPLAY SYSTEM

Powercfg -requestsoverride Driver "Legacy Kernel Caller" System

Powercfg -requestsoverride PROCESS "Realtek High Definition Audio" AWAYMODE DISPLAY SYSTEM

    powercfg -REQUESTSOVERRIDE DRIVER "INTELAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0245&SUBSYS_103C878E&REV_1000\5&1990864b&0&0001" SYSTEM

Powercfg -requestsoverride DRIVER "Realtek High Definition Audio" SYSTEM

    - kill processes one by one until the menu {Power}{Hibernate} works

    - sometimes it will not hibernate even there are no tasks in the taskbar so I start to kill processes in the Task Manager including {Desktop Windows Manager} in order to Hibernate.
At home, there is not a huge problem that I close the laptop lid and I find the computer working in the morning with super ventilator fan running, but the moment you put this in a backpack you can kill your 2500$ laptop

Now I got scared and start to measure the time I need to keep my laptop in a backpack so I check it frequently and do the advanced stuff manual work in order to really hibernate

Unfortunately, Microsoft is waiting for a plane to catch fire before repairing this (hibernate was working on all other Windows versions without interfering from other applications, drivers ... something changed)

    Cannot turn off hibernation

We have two relatively new identical HP ProDesk 400s running Windows 10. The computers often go into hibernation over night, preventing us from being able to log in remotely, and we can't shut off that feature. Our IT guy is also baffled. We have tried:

    Turning off hibernation in Windows

Turning off hibernation in a command shell being run as administrator

Changing the Windows power settings to high performance

    Updating Windows, drivers, BIOS

Turning off power saving options in the BIOS

    Deleting Energy Star

Setting the BIOS to have the computer wake up every morning at 7:00 automatically

Basically, we have tried everything that makes any intuitive sense and anything the intertubes suggested we do. All HP could suggest in addition is reinstalling Windows, which is a bigger step than we would like to take.
