Windows 10: why carn`t you fix widows media player

always crashing after about 30 mins during playback also will not update cd files so annoying think after 30 years this would be solved.not a tech wiz but the solutions are hard

What is the exact error message you get when you to try play files on Windows Media Player?

I suggest you to run both Windows Media Player Library and Settings troubleshooter and check.

Step 1: If your computer is having problems playing video or audio files in Windows Media Player, try using the Windows Media Player Settings troubleshooter to fix the problem. The troubleshooter checks the configuration and network settings
for Windows Media Player to make sure that you can play content you've downloaded and saved to your computer, or content streaming over a network or the Internet.

Steps to run Windows Media Player Settings troubleshooter are as follows:

• Press Windows key + X and select Control Panel.
• In the search box, type troubleshooter, and then click
  Troubleshooting.
• Click View all, and then click Windows Media Player Settings
  and follow the instructions.

Step 2: If your computer is having problems accessing your collection of digital media files in the Windows Media Player Library, try using the Windows Media Player Library troubleshooter to fix the problem. The troubleshooter makes sure
Windows Media Player is correctly installed on your computer, and checks to see whether your Player Library is corrupted.

Steps to run Windows Media Player Settings troubleshooter are as follows:

• Press Windows key + X and select Control Panel.
  
• In the search box, type troubleshooter, and then click
  Troubleshooting.
• Click View all, and then click Windows Media Player Library
  and follow the instructions.

Let’s try simple troubleshooting steps and check if this helps in resolving the issue. Follow the below steps. I suggest you to reinstall and reinstall the Windows media player.

• 
  Press Windows + X and click on
  Control Panel.
  
• 
  Now click on Programs and features and click in
  Turn Windows features on or off on the left pane.
  
• Click on Media features to expand it, uncheck the Windows media player and click on
  OK.

Reinstall it again by checking on the box Windows media player.



If that does not help to fix the issue, I suggest you to go to the below link and download the latest version on Windows media player and install the same.

Method 1.

I suggest you to run Windows Media Player troubleshooter, it will automatically fix the problems with Windows media player. Please follow the steps:

• 
  Press Widows key + X and select
  control panel.
  
• 
  Now type Troubleshooter in the search option.
  
• 
  In the search option in the new window, type Media Player
  and click on Windows Media Player Settings Troubleshooter and follow the prompts.
  

If the issue still persist, try the below method.

Method 2.

I suggest you to uninstall and reinstall Windows media player and check. Follow the below method.

• 
  Press Windows key + X and select
  Control Panel.
  
• 
  Click on Programs and features and click on Turn
  Windows features on or off.
  
• 
  Locate for Media features, uncheck on the box, click on
  Yes and click on OK. (It will uninstall the media features.)
  
• 
  To re-install the media features, check on the Media features box
  and click on OK.
  

I also suggest you to install all the Windows update.
