Windows 10: How to Upgrade motherboard and SSD without losing the license?

My computer is now running Windows 10, and I'd like to change the motherboard and the SSD to support windows 11 what to do so I don't lose the license? NB. Windows 10 is premium upgraded from Windows 7 and I don't remember the key.

The only hardware changes that can negatively impact activation status once you upgrade to free version are the changes to the:

• CPU
• TPM
• Motherboard replacement

The following changes are examples of hardware changes that will NOT impact the activation status:

• HDD/SSD
• Video card
• Adding extra memory

How to upgrade my motherboard without losing OS license?

Hi Community,

I would like to upgrade my motherboard keeping my hard drive, files, identity, configuration, and operating system intact. Both motherboards are made by ASUS, but they are not the same.

In theory my OS was installed in my hard drive, so I suppose this should be possible. I have two questions:

• Is there any way to know if the motherboards will be compatible so that it will boot reasonably well without requiring a fresh windows 10 install?

• If they are not, then is it possible to prepare my SSD and OS for hardware changes (so that it locates new hardware and installs appropriate drivers)? What would be the best way to do this? And would I require another windows license?
