Windows 10: Windows 10 msconfig switching selective startup to normal startup ends with BSOD boot

MSCONFIG I use msconfig "selective startup" for many years. Due to errors with rollback to win10 on inplace upgrade to win11 i found out: When i switch msconfig from "selective startup" to "normal startup" in boot the entry changes from "Windows 10 C:Windows actual operating system; standard operating system" to ""Windows 8 \Windows : standard operating system" and the the next restarts end in BSOD with 0xc000000e I have a single boot system and replaced Win 8 inplace with Win 10 some years ago.Win 10 has no open updates sfc /scannow is ok Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth is o

I understand you are not able to boot to in normal mode. Sorry for the inconvenience this has caused.

Did you follow the below steps to enable the Normal startup?

• Press Windows + R keys from the Keyboard.
• Type msconfig and hit Enter.
• Click on the General tab.
• Select the Normal startup option.
• Click on Apply and Ok.
• Restart the system and check.

If yes, you may follow the below steps to check if the computer boots to selective startup:

• Press Windows + R keys from the Keyboard.
• Type msconfig and hit Enter.
• Select the General tab.
• Select the Selective startup option, check the box for load startup services, load startup items, use original boot configuration will be enabled.
• Restart the computer.

If it boots successfully to selective startup then you can boot to normal startup from selective startup.

Please check the above scenario and get back with the results.

see right here, before I selected normal startup, it was on selective startup.
When I changed to normal startup I got the bsod 0xc000000e winload.exe error, and no boot.

Had to load the RE off flash and run commands to fixmbr and rebuildbcd.
Is it just my PC like that?
I just looked at another of my pc, and it is also on selective startup. If I switch to normal will it crash the boot?

How about if i return from normal to selective startup on the PC I had to repair the boot, will it again crash?

The point is I should have been able to do a selective startup. It kept refusing to go back to checking selective startup, every boot would switch back to normal. So what finally killed it it was selecting diagnostic startup then check selective startup and uncheck load startup items and deleting NGC folder

I had followed some instruction to boot Hiram's CD, and was able to run msconfig and switch back to normal, but I had also before that delegeted the NGC folder which holds PIN info.

After that I had no PIN (was unavailable), and clicking the button below my name in the message tried to open the app store. Which may make some sense to what happened.
