    DVD Drive missing from file explorer after installing and attempting to uninstall Instaburn.


    I reinstalled the Cyberlink Media suite that came with my blu ray drive. I noticed that the drive no longer showed up under the E: drive in file explorer and only shows up when i put media into the drive. I uninstalled the Cyberlink Media Suite. One program did not uninstall. It was called Instaburn. It didn't show up in my apps list and also could not be seen with my AVG Tuneup program that tries to find programs on your computer that one might wish to uninstall. So what is Instaburn and what did it do. A search online provided this information. *****'s Added by me for emphasis. "CyberLink In

    DVD drive missing in File Explorer

    Running Windows 10 version 21H1 on Lenovo Ideacentre A530. DVD drive is missing in left side of File Explorer - does NOT show up after Local Disk (CDVD Drive missing from file explorer after installing and attempting to uninstall Instaburn. :), but does show a DVD RW Drive (DDVD Drive missing from file explorer after installing and attempting to uninstall Instaburn. :) tile on the right side. Device Manager shows HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GT80N and "This device is working properly." Right click on tile shows options - Eject works but properties shows 0 bytes used and free. Have uninstalled HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GT80N and IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers and rebooted. Entries re-appear after reboot, but no joy ... Any suggestions ?

    After downloading an App, my( DDVD Drive missing from file explorer after installing and attempting to uninstall Instaburn. :) DVD drive showed the app in the drive when I keyed on it. There was NO media in the drive. I pressed the eject button and the drive D: disappeared from the drive list. Device Manager shows the drive present and operating
    correctly with no error symbol. I can read the media when loaded into the drive, so It seems to be working properly, just missing from the File Explorer. The drive is not shown in the Boot menu in the BIOS. I tried uninstalling the driver with no effect. Can
    I just reassign the drive letter in Disk Management to D: ?

    DVD Drive repeatedly missing

    Thanks for your suggestions.

    My PC is ASROCK ACPI X64 and the DVD drive is optiarc DVD RW AD 5240S.

    I have tried all your methods from 1 to 3 but none solved the problem.

    Method 1 Step 5

    Run as administrator not available

    Method 2 Step C

    Expand DVD/CD rom drives Not visable

    Method 3 Step 3

    Corrupted files found but not all fixed

    All updates have been installed.

    Any new suggestions?
