Windows 10: Laptop webcam stops after restart, why?

Hi, hoeveryone is doing well. I have a dell inspiron 5559. I know for a fact this machine doesn't support windows 11, but I still installed and it runs great. One concern is that my inbuilt webcam stopped the only way it works is when I uninstall all the imaging devices and camera devices and reinstall them and when I open the camera app I have a weird green filter that I can't describe. After while the camera turns normal, I can't set up windows hello. If I restart it says "camera is being used by another app" or "we can't find a camera" I'm almost always low on money as I'm a high schoolar a

The webcam may have stopped working due to hardware failure, or a loose cable that connects it to the device’s motherboard. We suggest that you try to show hidden devices in
Device Manager by following these steps:

• Right-click on the Start menu and select Device Manager.
• Click on the View tab and select Show hidden devices.
  

If you are seeing the webcam drivers, uninstall them. Then restart your device to check if Windows will be able to recognize the webcam and will install the drivers.

Most laptops have a built-in webcam on it, If it's not working, there's a problem with the driver or settings of it.

Step1: I request you to check for Hidden Devices in Device Manager. Please refer to these steps:

a. On the desktop, press Windows key + X and select Device Manager.

I suggest you to try the following steps and check if it helps.

Method 1: Update WebCam driver

Follow the steps below.

• Press Windows key + X and click on
  Device Manager.
• Search for the relevant driver.
• Right-click on the Webcam driver and select
  Update Driver Software.
• Restart your system

Method 2: Uninstall and then re-install
WebCam driver

Follow the steps below.

• Press Windows key + X and click on
  Device Manager.
• Search for the relevant driver.
• Right-click on the Webcam driver and select
  Uninstall.
• Once, you have uninstalled the driver do not restart, go to the Manufacturer's website and download the latest
  Webcam driver
• Double-click (run) and install the driver setup file.
• Restart your system.
