Windows 10: Windows Fast Startup is enabled but not working

Hello, it's a long time, Fast Startup has stopped working for no reason and always completes shutdown. I also ran Windows and drive scans, no problems were found. I enabled and disabled it, but it still didn't work and always system performs a full shutdown. Through the hybrid shutdown command in the command prompt, the shutdown is still full. I went to Event Viewer and strangely this change happened without any errors since November 20th and when I turn on system, it says The boot type was 0x0 instead of 0x1. There was no Windows update that day, no programs were installed, and the GPU driver

Fast Startup not working but hibernate is working.

I understand that the fast startup is not working after the check disk in your PC. We will help you.

To assist you better, I suggest you to answer the below questions.

• What issue were you facing to perform the check disk?
• Are you getting any error messages?
• What is the make and model of your PC?
• Which Edition of Windows 10 are you using?

I suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it helps.

Using Group Policy Editor:

Note: This option for using group policy is only available in the Windows 10 Pro editions.

• Press Windows Key + R combination and put gpedit.msc in
  Run dialog box.
• In the left pane navigate to:

• Now look in the right pane, you’ll got the policy named Require use of fast startup as shown above.
• Double click on this policy to get the window shown below.
• Now you can use following settings:
• Force “Hybrid boot” to be always turned on = Enable
• Do NOT force “Hybrid boot” to be always turned on = Disabled/Not configured
  (Default Setting)
• After making changes click Apply followed by OK.

Restart the machine and check if it helps. Keep us posted to help you better.

 

Fast Start-up doesn't work after updating to ver 2004

I'm sorry that the solution provided previously didn't work so as to the next step in making the fast startup option work I would suggest you make sure Hibernate option is enabled, please follow the below to enable Hibernate along with Fast Startup Option

To make hibernation available, follow these steps:

Step 1:

Press the Windows button on the keyboard to open the Start menu or Start screen.

Step 2:

Search for cmd. In the search results list, right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as Administrator.

Step 3:

When you are prompted by User Account Control, click Continue.

Step 4:

At the command prompt, type powercfg.exe /hibernate on, and then press Enter.

Step 5:

Restart the PC

Fast Startup is not working

Try this, see if it helps:

1. Turn off Hibernation via Powercfg -h off.
   
2. Make sure that Fast Startup was enabled prior.
   
3. Run Optimization for ALL drives.
   
4. Use the PC normally for 24 to 48 hours with the hibernation off.
   
5. The next morning after the day or two, turn on the PC.
   
6. Log on and go to the registry and turn on Hibernation from there.
   
7. Do a restart and when the logon screen shows up, don't logon.
   
8. Do a shutdown in the lower right hand corner of the screen.
   

Check if Fast Startup works now.
