Windows 10: View Settings in Outlook New

In the Outlook New app there appear by default three columns of equal width. I would like to "narrow" the folder pane and the messages list to allow more screen space for the reading and writing pane. If there is a way to do this in Settings, I can't find it. Can anyone advise me?

• What are you using is it mail app or Outlook app?

When I bought my dell it is already embedded the outlook view on my laptop no idea if it is mail app or outlook app

• What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?

Don't know hot to proceed browsing the internet how to troubleshoot but does not help either so frustrating.

Thank you for the detailed response. To change the search result's view from content to list, we suggest following the steps below:

• Open the File Explorer and try to search for files.
• In the toolbar, open the View tab and click List
  to change the view.
• Once changed, close the File Explorer.
• Open the File Explorer again and try to search to see if the setting has been retained.
