Windows 10: why is sound not working whenever laptop is open from sleep mode?

laptop does not play sound from video. This issue arises every time the laptop is 'awakened'? from sleep. When I click on an open tab then click play on the video that I was watching, there is simply no sound. I then opened Youtube, searched a random video to play and that also had no sound. I decided to click on the speaker icon bottom left and noticed that there was sound when I increased or decreased the volume. I proceeded to follow a bunch of online recommendations, which one had suggested I check if any servers needed updates, so i did that followed by having the restart the laptop, ac

Laptop in sleep mode, is opening apps and playing sound

When I put my laptop in sleep mode, and have the mute button on, it is waking itself up, and opening apps, and turning the sound back on.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

 

No sound after returning from Sleep Mode Windows 11

I have a Dell Latitude with Windows 11. When my PC returns from sleep mode the sound stops working. When I check Sound Settings the laptop's integrated speakers (Intel Smart Sound Technology) are still selected.

I'm usually quite good at troubleshooting PC issues. I've followed all of the standard Windows troubleshooting steps including uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers. Any suggestions?

• Does the sound stop only after the computer goes into the sleep mode?
• What happens when you connect external speakers?

If the issue is confined to sound after sleep mode, then I suggest you to try the below methods and check if it helps.

Method 1: Run the Power troubleshooter on the system.

Refer these steps:

1. Press Windows key + X, select Control panel.

2. Change the view by option on the top right to Large icons

3. Click on troubleshooting and click on the view all option on the left panel

4. Run the Power troubleshooter

Further you can try going to a new Power plan, if needed.

You can try the steps below and check if it helps.

1. Go to, Settings, Then System, Then,
Power and sleep.

2. Click on Additional power settings. Then "Choose what the power button does".

3. Click on Change Settings. Finally unclick "Turn on fast start up".

4. Save Settings.
